Had an amazing intro to woodworking class! All of the instructors were helpful, available and completely interested in whatever challenge you were tackling.
I felt safe, learned so much, and cannot wait to go back for another class.

Making a longbow at LAWS' bow making class was a great experience. And I am very proud of the bow I made. Eric and Nat provided expert guidance throughout the two-day work shop. The class was not a cakewalk but that is what made it so rewarding. I highly recommend!

I took my second class at LA Woodshop this past weekend and I couldn't recommend LA Woodshop enough whether you're a new woodworker or even if you have some experience under your belt. Its great to learn from folks who do this for a living vs. just from YouTube videos! Todd and Maddy were phenomenal instructors -- both very knowledgeable, down to earth, and funny. They didn't mind lots of questions. The class was thoughtfully organized. There was great communication from the Woodshop ahead of the class. My project turned out looking professional and I feel confident I can replicate it at home now, too. 10/10 recommend.

I bought this class for my boyfriend's birthday after seeing the great reviews online, and I'm happy to say that the reviews were absolutely well-founded! It's a long class, but every part of it felt useful as we learned how to use several different tools and what their purposes were. There's a heavy emphasis on safety, and even though some of the tools were spooky, we felt so supported by the 3 folks running the class. It was a wonderful, safe, fun environment to learn in. I also was pretty ambitious with the charcuterie board I wanted to make, and the folks running the class helped me a ton to make sure I was able to make my design work. The board turned out beautifully, I can't wait to use it! Thank you for the fantastic experience! I wanna take the bow-making class next.

Had such an awesome Intro to Woodworking class a couple weeks ago! The team is extremely friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable, and I can’t believe how much more confident I feel after only one day of instruction. Also made a cool project! Can’t recommend enough, will definitely be taking more classes here.

I’ve taken three classes so far at LA Woodshop and each has been an amazing experience. The shop teachers/members are all incredibly talented artisans, artists, craftspeople and woodworkers and their collective combined knowledge is awe-inspiring. The teaching style is one of bringing anyone who is interested into the craft of woodworking, using safe and correct techniques that allow you to produce astonishing results even as a novice. The shop is massive and stocked with fine hand tools, large-scale industrial/pro machinery, and everything you need to bring your project to life. No previous knowledge is needed or presumed. All instructors are approachable, open and fun. I have experienced classes at other community shops and the experience compared to LA Woodshop is honestly lacking. I can’t believe how much I’ve learned in such a relatively short period of time, all thanks to the hands-on instruction that starts with the first cutting board intro class and carried through to much more challenging experiences, such as table-making and dovetail hand joinery. Come practice a craft passed down for generations and get in touch with organic materials while you’re at it. I love this place!
